What is milk preservatives adulteration?

Fresh milk is prone to rapid microbial spoilage and when water is adulterated (which is very common adulteration) it increases the risk of microbial contamination. Chemical like formalin and hydrogen peroxide are one of the commonly used preservatives which increase shelf life of milk, your milkman or dairy farmer may add a few drops of these chemicals to reduce the expenses of refrigeration, electricity, and consequences of water adulteration, due to its high toxicity, these chemicals are considered to cause liver and kidney damage.

The World Health Organization (WHO) had recently issued an advisory to the Government of India stating that if adulteration of milk and milk products is not checked immediately, 87 percent of citizens would be suffering from serious diseases like cancer by the year 2025. (Source)
